MCBRM Trust, in association with Ramky Reclamation and Recycling Ltd. (RRRL), Hyderabad worked for the welfare of the Safai Sathis. The Trust wasmainly involved in conducting IEC activities, training the Safai Sathis, , collection of waste, processing of waste plastic & its segregation and sending to RRRL for further management.
The Trust in partnership with RRRL- for the last 3 years- has contributed significantly to the safety and welfare of Waste pickers in the cities ofHyderabad and Guntur. The waste collection in Guntur and Hyderabad impacted in reducing the adverse effects of waste plastic on the environment.
Objectives:
-> To design and implement an Economically Sustainable Model (ESM) for packaging plastic waste management.
-> Design and implementation of Material Recovery Centers (Swachhta Kendras) for improved plastic waste management in Hyderabad, Telangana.
-> To design, sustain and provide elements to institutionalize Swachhta Kendras in governance bodies and to obtain improved socio-economic conditions for waste pickers.
-> To develop a knowledge management, monitoring and communication mechanisms, supported with the development and deployment of cloud based technology backed end to end plastic waste management solutions.
